Being a short drive from many activities and attractions for memorable days out, Manor Farm and the Shepherd’s Hut are well located for exploring the Cotswolds and the counties of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire

SHORT-WALK

  • The Star in Ashton under Hill. Half a mile, 15 mins walk.  Excellent pub grub, great beer garden and playground, good Sunday lunch (huge portions!) and does take away -  01386 881325   

  • The Yew Tree in Conderton. Just under 2 miles, 30 - 40 mins walk - 01386 725364 

  • Beckford Stores in Beckford. This has just opened and is serving late breakfast and lunch refreshments. It is in the next village but is an easy walk through lovely woods and fields. 

  • Beckford Silk Eatery – this restaurant is next to Beckford Silk (silk printing and dyeing workshop and retail shop – worth a visit – see leaflet).  It is open from 10 to 5pm.  It is an easy walk across the field and down the road. No reservations. (GL20 7AU)

LOCAL PLACES TO VISIT

  • Beckford Silk - This is an interesting place to visit.  It is a small country workshop for the printing and dyeing of silk.  There is a retail shop, video tour, gallery and a restaurant on site which is open from 10 am until 5 pm.   It is an easy walk. (GL20 7AU) 01386 881507

  • Conderton Pottery - Toff Milway is a very skilled potter who specialises in hand-crafted salt glazed ceramics. This is a lovely walk over the hill. (GL20 7PP) 01386 725387

  • Broadway Village is a very picturesque Cotswold village. There are interesting shops and many tea shops and restaurants. 

  • Broadway Tower   It has a museum, a nuclear bunker, two very good restaurants and an amazing view!  There is a lovely walk from the tower down the hill to Broadway. (WR12 7LB) 01386 852390

  • Cheltenham is only 25 mins away and is excellent for shopping or eating! 

  • Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park Guiting Power  (as seen on Countryfile) This is a great place to visit with children (or adults!)  and is only about 25 mins away. (GL54 5FL)

  • Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway - take a steam train ride through beautiful countryside and hop on and off anywhere between Cheltenham and Broadway.

PLACES TO TAKE CHILDREN FOR A QUICK RUN AROUND

  • Broadway Activity Park in Broadway, 15 minute drive. This is a large playground which has something that will suit all ages, climbing frames, swings, climbing walls, zip wire, basketball court, slides etc.

  • Pittville Park in Cheltenham, 25 minute drive. Huge park with lots of grounds you can walk about, pond where you can see ducks, and enclosed play park that will suit all ages from tiny to early teen - huge climbing frames, trampolines, swings, zip wire etc, vast sand pit area and water play in the summer. 3 cafes in the park as well.

  • Ashton village park, 5 minute drive. Enclosed space with slides, climbing frames etc, good for range of ages, and a playing field next door to kick a football around.

  • Beckford village park, 5 minute drive. Enclosed space with swings, slide and a few wooden climbing items, and a large playing field next door to kick a football around.

  • Elmley Castle playground, 10 minute drive. Enclosed space with slides, climbing frames etc, and a playing field next door to kick a football around.

  • Bredon Park and playing fields, 10 minute drive. Enclosed space with slides, climbing frames etc, additional wooden gym apparatus outside the enclosed area and a playing field next door to kick a football around.
